Did you know that during COVID-19, when we were randomly flipping through the internet, 1.6 billion learners globally lost their access to education? According to the International Labour Organization (ILO), the global labor force participation rate for women is approximately 48.5%, compared to 75% for men. The UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) reports that by the end of 2020, 82.4 million people were forcibly displaced due to persecution, conflict, or violence.
Therefore, my mission does not revolve around only implementing my knowledge for a certain community’s betterment, but upholding the sustainable development goals in order to mitigate the inequalities, the gender gaps, and the conflicts that make people homeless as well as countries burn.
